The impact drill is our widely used drilling tool to be used in finishing. When using an impact drill, you need to use appropriate drill bit.
The drill pattern of an impact drill is usually expressed as drill diameter. There are 10 commonly used models, namely 6mm, 8mm, 10mm, 12mm, 14mm, 16mm, 20mm, 24mm, 26mm, 28mm and so on.
Different models of impact drills have different parameters and are suitable for different areas, so you need to choose right impact drill according to actual area of use.
When choosing an impact drill, we can choose from following three aspects:
1. Based on processing materials
The 10mm and 12mm impact drills have a high impact frequency and are used on fragile materials such as ceramic tiles and red brick. The 16mm and 20mm impact drills have large output power and torque and are suitable for drilling red brick and lightweight concrete.
2. Choose according to work object and aperture
Interior decoration and placement of electrical appliances typically use nylon dowels with a hole diameter of 6-12mm, and drills with a 10mm and 12mm impact are also required.
For wall decoration, M8~M14 metal dowels with a hole diameter of 12~20mm are commonly used. Impact drills with a diameter of 16 mm and 20 mm must be used.
3. Depending on working environment
The 10mm and 12mm impact drills can be used with one hand and are suitable for pre-scale and upward drilling. Electric impact drill 16mm, 20mm with side handle and drilling depth gauge, can be operated with both hands, suitable for ground and side drilling.
